Compression Horn Driver

PRODUCT  DESCRIPTION:

A Commercial Sound Compression Driver for Use with a Paging Horn.  The 1829BT is a heavy-duty convertible driver for use in high-power public address installations.

The drivers have rugged phenolic diaphragms, two-inch diameter voice coils, and "rim centered" ferrite magnet structures for long life and reliability under extreme operating conditions.

This unit has connections for 25V / 70V distributed systems and a power tap select switch.

The exterior is finished in durable waterproof paint, and all metal parts have been treated for resistance to high humidity and fungus.

This unit is ideal for both indoor and outdoor applications.  These drivers are well suited for any installation requiring rugged high-power performance.  

PRODUCT  SPECIFICATIONS:

  • Power Handling: 60 Watts RMS, (500 Hz-5 kHz pink noise).

  • Dispersion Pattern: Dependent upon the horn selected.  Use either the Cobraflex IIB or the Cobraflex III Dispersion Horn.

  • Frequency Response: 280 Hz. - 8 kHz., (±5 dB).

  • Sensitivity: 105 dB, (1W/1m, 500 Hz-5 kHz pink noise with the FC100 horn).

  • Impedance: N/A.

  • Transformer: Yes.

  • Transformer Range: 25.5/70.7 Volt Line Transformer.

  • Crossover Required: None.

  • Mechanical Construction of Driver: Threaded metal throat insert to accommodate screw-in horns with a throat opening of 0.7 inch to 1.0 inch diameter and a standard 1 3/8"-18 thread.

  • Dimensions: 5.3" (13.4 cm.) Diameter x 6.4" (16.3 cm) Depth.

This exceptional dual output compression horn driver from EV / University Sound features a rugged casing and weather resistant phenolic diaphragm, making it perfect for indoor or outdoor use.

The 1829BT is a 60-watt compound diffraction projector. Wide range, integrated horn-and-driver system.  This single driver can be fitted to two coaxial horns, each coupled to the driver. This method uses opposite sides of the 1829BT driver diaphragm.  Weather-resistant gray with 150° H x 110° V at 2 kHz.  Compound diffraction design allows for more uniform dispersion throughout the frequency bandwidth.
